Our Story
Founded in honor of Bassey Udoh Ekong, the foundation carries forward a legacy of community service, educational support, and human development. Today, we continue this legacy by creating pathways for young people to thrive academically and socially.
About BUEK Foundation
The Bassey Udoh Ekong (BUEK) Foundation is a registered non-profit organization committed to transforming lives through education, mentorship, and community development. Founded on the belief that education is the foundation for lasting change, the organization works to create equal opportunities for children and empower families to actively support their growth.
We operate primarily in Itu and Uyo Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, where many students face barriers to education due to financial challenges, limited resources, and a lack of guidance. Through targeted programs and direct community engagement, the Foundation provides scholarships, learning materials, mentorship support, and capacity-building initiatives that help students learn, grow, and build confidence.
At the heart of our work is the conviction that parents play a vital role in shaping the futures of their children. We offer parental engagement programs, workshops, and advocacy campaigns that equip parents with knowledge, resources, and practical skills to support their children academically and emotionally.
Our goal is to ensure every child has access to quality education, regardless of their background, and every parent is empowered to take an active role in the educational journey of their child. We believe that when students are supported and parents are empowered, communities become stronger, and future leaders emerge.
